Can you erase highlighting?

When I add writing space, the highlighting doesn't always move with the
text.

Can that be fixed?

Also, is there any easy way to remove highlighting? It seems as though the
highlighting is being treated as a drawing, but I haven't found any way of
selecting just the highlighting, short of moving the text block elsewhere,
to get it out of the way. Is there a setting which will display all
handles?

Thanks,
Aunty

Press Ctrl-A will show you all handles... and have them ALL selected too.
You know there are 2 highlighters.

One - you select Pen, select Highlighter - color. This is like creating a
drawing and if you use this to highlight your text, when you move text, you
need to select the highlight "drawing" too to move it. And like you said, to
delete the highlight, you'll have to perhaps move the text out of way and
select the "drawing" of the highlight to delete it.

Two - Select the text you want to highlight. As part of the Formatting menu
bar, beside the Font Color is the Highlight button/icon. Click that to select
a color and highlight your text. Using this method, your highlight will move
with your text.
- To un-highlight, select "None" as the highlight.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for your reply. I hadn't understood that there were two ways of
highlighting. I have been using the first method, and it has all the
limitations of OneNote's other drawing tools. For example, the highlighting
doesn't always move with the text when you add space above it.

The second way is definitely better. Thank you for pointing it out to me.

Re the Control-a, I tend to use only the tablet mode. Is there a menu item
equivalent to pressing control-a?

Thanks,
Andy
