Can you import ACT! contacts/notes into Outlook?

How does one do this? I'd like to either Import ACT! contacts and
related notes into Outlook, OR... Export ACT! contacts and related
notes into Outlook.

ACT! has an Export function, but I'm unfamiliar with the terminology
used for files, extensions, and such. It would be sweet if there was
simply an "Expot to Outlook" option, or if Outlook had an "Import
Contacts" option and then let you select from other popular PIMs and
such.

Can anyone steer me in the right direction? TIA!

In Outlook, select File, Import/Export, from another program or file, ACT!
Then step through the options from there.

Judy...

Thanks for the suggestion, but when I get to the window with a list of
programs there's no listing for ACT!, just an assortment of others
like MS Access, Lotus Notes, etc.. I'm using Outlook 2000 on my
desktop... is that the reason?

Is there a simple way to upgrade what types of files I can Import
without upgrading MS Office 2000 Pro? I do have the WM 2002 and WM
2003 HP/Compaq CDs, and I think some form of Outlook is on those CDs,
but I don't know if it includes a desktop version that will work with
the PDA version.

if i remember correctly, from a move from act to outlook a couple of years
ago, it took a bit of experimenting to map the act fields to the correct
outlook fields. they don't just show up where you might expect them. and the
notes didn't transfer at all.

Judy...

Just wanted to amend my post to note that I finally was able to import
the ACT! v.6.0 contacts into Outlook _after_ I installed Outlook 2002
on my notebook. Then I was able to sync my PPC PDA to the notebook
and get the PDA up to speed.

The one thing is that Outlook 2002 only lists ACT! v.4.0 and possibly
an older version as ACT! v.6.0 probably came out after Outlook 2002
was released. What I didn't understand was that Windows Mobile 2003
comes with Outlook 2002 on the CD, and there's no apparent free
download for Outlook 2003 for those that paid for the WM 2003 upgrade.
Does that make sense?

BTW, will MS make Outlook 2003 and/or the BCM available as a separate
sale item? And will the BCM work with Outlook 2002?
