Can you insert a "task summary" field in the Gantt chart? If so, h

On the "See how resource's time is allocated" report, you are allowed to
insert a "Task Summary Name" field into the "Resource Usage" portion of the
report.

We are trying to use this report to make it easier to see which resources
are available and if not to quickly assess which projects they are working on
so we can re-prioritize the resource or the project.

It would be a lot easier if we could also insert a type of "task summary
name" field in the Gantt chart. That way when we click on an Resource A's
name will not only be able to see the task he/she is working on, but
associated top level task name.

Many of our task names are the same, the differentiating factor is the top
level task summary name.

Thank you. Any workarounds will also be appreciated.

Place the desired task name text in a spare text field on the same task row.
For example, Text1. It is easiest to just type it.

However, if you get ambitious and want to use some VBA you want the Parent
property of the task.

Hello abc,

Fellow MVP, Jack Dahlgren has generously posted some code on his
website that will append the full "path" to a task, including
summary task names, into a spare text field. You may find his
macros page at:
http://masamiki.com/project/macros.htm

Look for the macro listing called "SummaryName".

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
