can you link pictures and text to the same page?

I am trying to link my pictures and the text that describes the picture to
one page. I link the text and when I add the pictures to link to the same
page, the text link does not work? Can anyone please help me

If I understand correctly, then first select the text, which I assume is a
caption in a text box, and insert your hyperlink. Then select the image, and
insert your hyperlink. I don't think you can select both at the same time
and insert a hyperlink.
