Can you put a weatherbug widget in a powerpoint?

I'm trying to setup a display for my school district that will show things
like the lunch for the day and any activities. Plus my superintendent wants
it to show the local weather in a strip on the bottom of the display. I've
already tried liveweb and it won't do.

Widgets are JavaScript running in a browser or on a desktop that use a
protocol such as RSS Web feeds to transport media from some server, page or
blog etc. which are accessible using the WWW which then transports the data
to the User Interface of the widget which has been developed to use HTML to
format the viewable results which are often interactive.

What your asking about though is typically called --digital signage-- even
though the HDTV as a platform will soon over-take the use of free-standing
LCD or Plasma displays being used in school districts for this type of
presentation. So this is really not a PPT question per se as what you are
trying to achieve is a broader context than PowerPoint itself.

Look at Ridge Logic as one of many, many vendors that offer
Software-as-a-Service: http://www.ridgelogic.com/ or if you are in Wisconsin
and this becomes a project the school needs to get more help with let me
know...
