Can you Reverse Engineer from Oracle 9i?

I'm attempting to reverse engineer from Oracle 9i and
Visio is locking up or reporting fatal errors. I'm using
Visio 2003. The tables come in but it dies before the
relations ships. I also noticed that it is attempting to
grab user data types from some of the built in schemas
(which may be causing the problem.)

I've tried a couple ODBC drives to no avail. Is Oracle 9i
too new for Visio 2003?

Have you tried ignoring Indexes? We are having a similar
problem. We fixed it by telling it to ignore things other
than
tables and foreign keys.

Kevin,
Thanks for the suggestion.

I found another workaround. I created a "Weak" account
that could only see the public object and target schema.
That hid most of the other DB objects and I was able to
create a new model. Pre 2003 updated models still hung.

I don't know about you, but Visio 2003 seems to be giving
me more trouble than 2000. I upgraded because of the same
problem in Visio 2000. I didn't try this workaround on
that version. There are a lot of other new Visio 2003
bugs. If the first service pack doesn't fix some of these
problems I'll probably go back to Visio 2000. I wish
could get my upgrade $ back.
