can you separate the inbox when using two email accounts?

My husband and I both use cox.net as our ISP e-mail (two seperate, not
alias). I recently set up outlook 2003 with our email accounts, however our
inboxes are receiving mail for the separate e-mail accounts. We have only
one Windows log -in, we each have our own Outlook profiles that we select
which one we want to use each time we start outlook, which is why I don't
understand how I receive email sent to my husband and vise versa. Please
help.
Also I would not like to be prompted with a windows log in at all upon start
up of the computer, anyone know how to remove the log on prompt?

If you both log into the same account then you will receive all email sent
to that account. it sounds as if you have 2 email addresses associated with
one account. Either that or you are somehow using the same PST (check that).
The better solution is to use entirely separate email accounts - even if one
of you gets, say, a Gmail account.
As the situation is now you can use Rules to move separate the mail on
receipt.

Thanks Bill R, but I am still confused. What is PST? Also I have noticed
that I have been receiving random e-mails with anyone with a cox.net ISP,
what do I need to do under rules to not get my husbands e-mails and vise
versa.

the PST is the main Outlook data storage file.
Locate it by right-clicking on the root folder (Personal folders), select
Properties ... then advanced in the general tab.
I need to now how your accounts are set up before I can give advice on the
rest.
Do you only sign into one account and receive all emails through that or do
you have a sign-in for separate accounts?

BillR, I think I found the problem. Under send/receive I unchecked the one
with my husbands info and sent him an e-mail that did not show up on my
account. Thanks for all of your advice. Any idea how to remove the log in
screen at the start up?

What would be ideal for you is to use separate profiles.
Remove your husbands account from the current profile then create a new
profile for him via the Mail icon in Control Panel. add his email account to
that profile and ensure you prompt for which profile to use when Outlook
starts.
