Can you teach One Note To Learn Shorthand?

It's not possible -- he was saying, slightly sarcastically, that OneNote's
inking capabilities are provided by Windows (the Tablet PC edition
specifically) so any training of the ink recognition system would have to be
done in Windows.

I suppose if you could write letters that the inking system recognized as
letters you could try and build some sort of "AutoCorrect"-type system that
recognized them as shorthand. But OneNote doesn't provide that kind of
capability.

Which brings me back to the feature suggestion I have made a few times before :
What is needed is some way of having 3rd-party recognisers selectable for
different areas of ON notes so as to allow eg shorthand recognition for some
areas of the screen, maths recognition for other areas etc etc.

Autocorrect is in no way a substitute for this facility, does no-one else agree
with me that this would be useful ?

I'll agree that it would be useful (as well as per-page or per-section
languge settings. Unfortunately, such a feature is not in the works for
OneNote 2007.

Yes, it would be useful. I wouldn't expect to see it in the next version
however.
