can you use gmail and outlook 2007 without an PAID ISP?

I have a verizon pc card with access to the internet.
how can i use outlook 2007 to get and sent mail through gmail?
I went to the help and did download and change outlook settings but
can not do anything now.
I was set up on cable, OPTONLINE but discontinued because of the cost.
any suggestions?

Have you looked up Google Help how to setup Outlook to access your mail?
(Make sure you follow the correct instructions depending if you're using
POP3 or IMAP.)

That's a PAID ISP, certainly. You don't get Verizon Internet access free.

The same way you use it with any other ISP, I imagine. Configure the
account as an IMAP or a POP account.

What did you download? What did you change? Uninstall whatever you
installed and change back whatever you changed.
