Cannot access enterprise global template error

I have a project manager, one of six, who regulary uses MSPP2007 and MSPS
2007. They were off on vacation and when they returned they are not able to
connect with the server. When they open MSPP they get the following error
message (on their workstation or others):

"Could not access enterprise global

Possible reasons:
*You do not have sufficient permissions to access the Enterprise Global.
*There is a problem with the Enterprise Global in the database.
If the problem persists, contact your administrator.

I've checked and reset the PM security group and global permissions
(although they looked fine) and I've opened and saved the enterprise global.
Still no luck.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Just an update. After trying several different computers and network
connections (the other PM nodes) the PM was able to access PWA and open and
close one of their projects. Now they are able to access MSPS from their own
laptop and network connection. I have no idea what happened.
