Cannot Access Exchange Server when outside the LAN

Processor: intel
Email Client: Exchange

I can setup my account in Entourage to access my e-mail. No problem. If I leave the corporate lan and go external, I have difficulty. It says (Offline) and I cannot get it to go back online.

I have the server configured as the externally-facing address (mail.domain.com) but it doesn't seem to be able to get online.

Your advice is greatly appreciated.

Hi Scott!

You're better off using an internal server address while at work and an
external server address while outside your company network. I'll point
you to these links for how to configure Entourage at work, at home and
how to automatically switch between the two.

"Connecting Entourage to an Exchange Server at work"
<http://entourage.mvps.org/exchange/exchangeatwork.html>

"Connecting Entourage to an Exchange Server from Home"
<http://entourage.mvps.org/exchange/exchangeathome.html>

"Testers needed for script that automatically changes Exchange Server
settings for laptop users"
<http://blog.entourage.mvps.org/2007/06/testers_needed_for_script.html>

Hope this helps!

I am such a doofus! I had that configured correctly with the http address, but had some Sync issues (big surprise there right) and when I uninstalled and reinstalled, just set it up like I would a PC.
Thank you so much for your help!

P.S. - At least for us internally and externally both work with the <http://exchange.external.address.com> so a script to change back and forth is not necessary.

Thanks again!
