Cannot access removable drive from Office XP

Office XP works great. I can open save documents to my
hard drive no problem. When I try to save to my cd drive
for back up I get "access denied". Same thing when I try
to open files stored on the cd.

Other programs have no problem saving to the removable
drive or the cd

Hi Bob,

You really don't want to work directly off removable media in Office.
Word creates a temp file in the same location as the document when it
is opened and both applications create temp files during Save. (And
there are times both applications will create temp files in the same
folder depending on what you are doing).

As you know, once a file is written to a CD the space can never be
recovered - not to mention working directly off removable media is one
of the leading causes of file corruption.
