Cannot Access Word after installing Office xp

I HAVE OFFICE XP STANDARD FOR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS 2002 VERSION. HAVE NEW
COMPUTER AND INSTALLED IT AFTER TRIAL OFFICE EXPIRED. IT SAYS IT IS
INSTALLED....COMES UP...WON'T TAKE MY PRODUCT KEY...SAYS IS INVALID...THEN IF
I TRY TO START A NEW DOCUMENT I GET ...'THIS MODIFICATION IS NOT ALLOWED
BECAUSE THE SELECTION HAS BEEN LOCKED' WTF....NOW I CAN'T DO ANYTHING ON
WORD...I'VE CALLED...THEY WANT $50 BUCKS...I PAID $150 FOR THE
PRODUCT...SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY MORE MONEY TO FIGURE OUT WHAT'S
UP....HELP...I HAVE KIDS WHO NEED TO DO HOMEWORK....HELP...HELP...HELP

Please lose the caps - it's the Usenet equivalent of SHOUTING....

Did you UNINSTALL the trial version before installing your Student and
Teacher version?

Sorry about the caps....no I didn't uninstall...I'll do that and try

Should I uninstall ALL...including the XP that I have already

No - just uninstall your Student Teacher Office, then uninstall the trial
version. Re-boot, then re-install the Student Teacher version and see if
that works.
