Hi,

I have a problem which is bugging me for some time now. I have created
some documents with word 2000. After a while they show up in a green
color in explorer, actually the whole file is colored green and I am
not able to move it or copy it either. This partition is running on XP

The odd thing is that I can access the documents with word 97 which is
running on windows 2000 on an other partition.

Please any help?

Thanks

You have set Explorer to compress files more than X Days old.

Thanks Terry,

But why is that only the case in this folder then? And more important
how do I decompress them?

Thanks

Right-click on the folder (in Windows Explorer) and select Properties. On
the General tab page, click on the Advanced button and clear the check box
against Compress Contents to Save Disk Space. This may be done globally
(whole disk) or group folders, or just and individual folder. It is normally
clear.

Thanks for you suggestion.

But I have tried that about 25 times and it is not working it gives me
an error that explorer cannot execute this attribute.

You might have any other suggestions?

thanks

If Windows is refusing to change the attribute, either you do not have
permissions or you have a virus. Are you logged in as Admin?
