cannot activate trial - useless

Downloaded the trial version just now. Installed it fine but it won't connect
to the internet. The rather stupid wizard can't find the connection. The
telephone option is greyed out also so no luck there.

Is there any point in me carrying on trying to find a solution? I've looked
on these forums and it seems I'm one of many who have no joy with this.

So, can someone please help me and tell me:

1) should I give up now and consign the product to the bin?

or

2) is there a way I can activate it and give it a go?

Of course MS are no help at all so perhaps if someone's been through the
same waste of time as me they could offer some help?

If you recently downloaded our trial version of OneNote and had trouble
activating it using these steps
http://www.microsoft.com/office/trial/activate.mspx, please let me know. You
can either reply here in the newsgroup or send me private email. We are
trying to track down the problem.



Please include the following information if you can:



a.. The exact error message you received.
b.. What kind of internet connection are you using? (Cable, DSL, Dial-up,
etc.)
c.. Who is the internet provider for the connection? (e.g. Verizon,
Comcast, etc.)
d.. What method you use to connect to the internet? (Direct to the modem,
via a Wireless Router of type xxxx etc.)
e.. What operating system are you running?
f.. Which other Office applications do you have on the PC? (including
versions)
