Just starting to use FP wizard. Cannot add/edit or create a record
into an access database created with the FP database wizard.
Running on Windows XP pro
FP 2003
IIS 5.1
ASP works for other pages
I get no error on an Add. In fact it says new record added.
For an edit:
Database results wizard error
Operation must use an updatable query
For a delete:
Database results wizard error
Could not delete from specified tables.
Originally I shut down my server, opened the database from the \fpdb
directory and added a record. Closed Access and then started the IIS
server. I then could retrieve that record.
Subsequently, I added another record to the database, the same way.
But now in IIS 5.1 I can only retrieve the originally added record.
Kind of like the records are cached and not refreshed (but I did
refresh the URL in my browser)
I have set the permissions for the FPDB directory via the inetmgr
program to both read and write. I have tried various default anomyous
users including the default IUSR_BOBDELL4400,
BOBDELL4400/IUSR_BOBDELL4400 (selected via browse, then advanced, then
selecting the user), also tried the user that I logged on the the
Windows XP Pro machine.
Interstingly, the fpdb directory in windows has the readonly parameter
"highlighted"
I added web sharing of the fpdb directory via windows explorer and set
the read and write and execute (including scripts).
I also established it as a virtual directory on my web server with read
write and execute allowed.
What am I missing?
