It's a "Language" issue. The language marked on the text you are checking
does not match the language of the custom dictionary.
See "Troubleshoot spelling and grammar checking" in the Word help.
Your custom dictionary should be marked as with a Language of "(none)" so
that it matches all of the languages you use. English US and English AUS
are NOT the same language -- there are 29 "English" languages

Not sure if this is a file permissions issue but while spell checking
a doc I no longer can add words to my personal dictionary file. The
"Add" button never is highlighted when a misspelled word is
encountered.
How do I fix this issue?
