cannot assign categories to contact record

I keep getting the message " you have assigned more than 50 categories to
this record" etc., when I haven't assigned any, yet am trying to. I have
carried out the diagnostic on the web (de-select then select) and rebooted
but to no avail. I have about 60 categories in my master list and only
assign 3 or 4 to each record. Why is this happenng now and what do I need to
do?

Sorry to say, you are only allowed to link 50 categories at one time. No
more can be linked. It doesn't matter how many categories you have setup,
it's the number of linked categories.

This is a huge bug in BCM and hopefully, the next update which should be
soon, will address this flaw.

Hi - I'm afraid I don't know what you mean by "linked". I only have about 4
categories per each individual (old) contact record. Some records are
completely stand alone and not linked to an account.

It is happening with the new contacts I enter into the system. And I just
checked with the old ones too. I added a fifth category to an old contact and
the same problem happened. So I un-assigned it and still it wouldn't save.
Eventually, I had to delete all the categories as it would only let me save
one.

Sorry to say, you are only allowed to link 50 categories at one time. No
more can be linked. It doesn't matter how many categories you have setup,
it's the number of linked categories.

This is a huge bug in BCM and hopefully, the next update which should be
