Windows XP Pro, Outlook 2007.
Most of my "work" folders (and the files in them) are encrypted with
Windows XP encryption.
Occasionally, I want to attach a file from one of those folders to an
outgoing e-mail message. The file doesn't need to remain encrypted.
Outlook 2007 can't attach any encrypted file, whether I drag the file to
the message window, or use the paperclip "attach" icon. I get the message
"Cannot find this file. Verify the path and file name are correct." It
doesn't depend on which file I try to attach.
My anti-virus program (AVG 8.0) doesn't seem to be the culprit, since I can
turn it off and get the same error, although I'm not 100% sure it's not
somehow related.
I can copy any such file to a non-encrypted folder and then attach it to an
outgoing message.
I searched the web, but the results seemed to cover how to encrypt
attachments, and other things that didn't apply.
Is this a known problem, or should I not expect to be able to do what I am
trying to do?
Thanks.
