Cannot Build Team from Project Server in Project 2003 Professional

Hi;

I tried to use "Build Team from Project Server" to add resources from
Project Server, however I got the following message.

"Project could not add resources from the Project Server. Your Server URL
may be incorrect. Please check the Server URL in the Collaborate...."

I am sure the Server URL is correct because I can run test in Collaborate to
confirm the connection.

What else should I check in Project Server? When I go to the Resource
centre in Project 2003 server, I do not see the resource, if this is the
problem? I found that the server can sync the username from my Active
Directory server, how can I add the resource name to Project Server from
Active Directory?

Kane,

Have you added your project team members to PWA yet? This can happen one of two ways. You can either add the users directly in PWA (project web access) or you can setup your PWA instance to create accounts automatically when they are added to the global resource pool. If you use the latter method and want users to use windows authentication (from your active directory) you need to make sure to fill in the field called "Windows User Account". This needs to be in domain\username format. When this is done correctly it will automatically set the account to use "integrated Windows authentication". Otherwise the accounts will be setup to use project server authentication - which comes with its own set of issues.

Bottom line - add your resources to the enterprise resource pool first. Verify everything went as planned on the PWA side. Then you can build your project team from the enterprise pool. Good luck.
