Cannot change Default Language

R

RobN

I have tried to change the language to English (Australia) without success.
If I highlight a section I've typed, I can change the language to
(Australia) OK, but the default always remains as (US), which applies to the
rest of the document I did not highlight.
When I check the Word Options>Popular>Language Settings... the (US) and the
(Australia) option are both listed in the Enabled editing languages
section, and if I delete the (US) option it returns as soon as I re-open
Word. In this same Language Settings area, the Primary editing language is
set as (Australia) and that never changes.

Anybody have a fix for this?

Control Panel->Regional and Language settings perhaps? Checked your Keyboard settings?

Already checked the Regional and Language settings. Don't know what to
check with Keyboard settings as no options there-in.

Aahh! Now it dawns on me, it's the keyboard setting tucked away within the
Regional and Language settings. I was looking at the Keyboard option in
Control Panel.

I changed it to (Australia) and it fixed the problem.

Thankyou Patrick and Milly.
