Cannot change My Notebook Location

D

David Graham

I am having problems changing the location of My Notebook folder. It is
currently on a network drive and I want to move it to the local drive so I
can use it out of the office. I go to tools->options-> open and save

I change the My Notebook folder to the one I want to use, but then when I go
back in it is right back where it started and won't change to the new
location.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Can I assume ON2003?

Are you saying that OneNote doesn't accept the change and the new "My
Notebook" folder is not used, and OneNote continues to open up to the old
location on the network drive? If so, that's a bug.

Or are you saying that OneNote opens up to the new "My Notebook" location
but does not copy all of the notebook contents from the previous location
on the network. That's expected behavior, and to resolve this, you must
manually copy the files from the old location to the new one. Changing
the My Notebook location will not automatically copy the files.

In ON 2007 there is a fanatstic new construction handling the "go out"
issue in a way unmatched by any other software I know.

If you didi not yet have a look at it, RUN (not walk) to the Beta
download site and collect it (at a download fee of $ 1.50).

It is a beta version, so as long as you can deal with minor & major
hassles, crashes, potential data loss, etc, go for it.
