Cannot change the color of fonts in Word. I've tried everything.

I just received a new computer with Office Pro loaded on it. In Word (and
email since Word is my email editor) I cannot change the color of fonts. I
have tried everything that I can think of. This is my third computer with
Office Pro 2003 on it and I have had no problem with the others
installations. I have even uninstalled and re-installed the software. The
color show correctly in the color box but the font is always in black. In my
emails I like to use a different color when replying and I sent up the email
to do that, but that didn't work either. Any thoughts??

Is the monitor set to show color? Test with a hyperlink. It should format to
underline and blue? If it's underlining and still black, I think it is the
monitor at fault.

Directly in Word the hyperlink worked in color. I then tried several words
and now they work in color. I then went to my email which uses Word as the
email editor and it shows the hyperlink in black. I can't get color any
place there. Any other thoughts? BTW, thanks for this help.
