Cannot connect to datasource error.

Brenda

I am unable to connect to any Access databases as a datasource. Each time I
try I get the following error. I think it has to do with security settings,
but am not sure. Any ideas?

InfoPath cannot connect to the data source.
Attempt to modify a read-only node.

The folder containing the database has read-only checked. I have tried to
uncheck it and apply the settings but it doesn't "stick". The account that I
am using is a member of the administrators group.

Hi Brenda,

What happens if you take, say, the Northwind sample database (typically
located at: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\Samples) and make a
copy of this to your root "C:\" drive - can you now connect to this
database?

Also, make sure that after you copy the Northwind database right-click,
choose Properties and make sure the file itself does not have the
"read-only" attribute set.

I hope this helps!
