Cannot connect to Project Server from Project Professional on the same computer

Hello,

I am having problems connecting to my project server 2003 through
project professional 2003 when I try to do this from an installation
of project on the server. If I try to connect from another computer
using project professional 2003, everything is fine. I am using the
same windows account so I am unsure where to check next as it does not
seem to be a permissions issue.

The error message I get is,

"Project was unable to establish a connection with the selected
Project Server. This could be caused by a loss of network
connectivity or problems with the Project Server or database."

I can use web access with no problems, and when I test the connection
to the server in MS Project, it works every time.

I am stumped...the user account I am using has access to open the
enterprise global template.

Thanks in advance for any assistance - it is much appreciated!

I'm pretty sure it is a problem with MDAC. Project Pro 2003 required MDAC 2.6
or higher and defaul installation of Windows 2000 PRo have MDAC 2.4 or 2.5.
We experienced that issue in my organization. Also validate that if you have
SP1 on project server that you also have SP1 on your Project Pro
