Running into a very strange problem.
We have an existing project server setup that has been working fine
for years. My company has an externally hosted MSPS site that we are
bringing in house. We have gotten a backup of the PS database from
the external vendor and having it working just fine in our test
environment. But when we move it to production and go to the PWA site
for it (http://server/site/) we get an error saying "Cannot connect to
the configuration database." and this in the Application Log-
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Windows SharePoint Services 2.0
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1000
Date: 12/14/2007
Time: 8:46:03 AM
User: N/A
Computer: WebServer
Description:
#50070: Unable to connect to the database WSSConfig_DB on
sql01\instance01. Check the database connection information and make
sure that the database server is running.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
Now there are 5 other MSPS instances on the same server and none of
them are having any issues. I've checked the credenitals of the
account that manages the WSS portion it is fine and can connect to
SQL.
I've checked the SQL logs and they show no failed login attempts.
Any ideas on what is going on with this database?
thanks,
Patrick
