Cannot Connect

On my client machine, I cannot connect to Project Server 2003 SP2a via
Project Professional 2003 SP2. I consistently receive a dialog stating:
Cannot Connect.
Project was unable to establish a connection with the selected Project
Server. This could be caused by loss of network connectivity or problems with
the Project Server or database.

I have tried connecting with my individual account and with the built-in
Administrator account to no avail.

From a different client, I recently uploaded (saved to server) three large
project plans that are now unreachable from my machine.

I can successfully connect via other machines, and I know the simple
solution is to use one of those, but that does not solve the problem with my
machine.

I have added the URL to my Trusted Sites list in IE. And, since I can
successfully connect from another machine, my permissions and group
associations must be correct.

Does anyone know what is happening here?

Jeff:

You can try renaming your profile on your current machine to "dot-bak",
forcing the recreation of your profile on the next logon. If this clears up
the issue, you can migrate your profile contents to the new profile

Thank you for the tip, Gary. I tried changing the user profile - it gave me
the same thing (Cannot Connect). I now think this is a machine settings
problem. I thought perhaps Norton Internet Security is the problem. I
turned it off and received the same message.

I have seen this problem in many many discussion groups and I have tried
everything suggested. Am I missing something here?
