Cannot convert password protected documents

I had to save/convert a "password protected" WordPerfect document to
Microsoft Word(2003) because we no longer have WordPerfect installed on our
new computers. I now get an error message, "Cannot convert password
protected documents" when I try to open the document. Any sugestions would
be much appreciated.

Only the obvious one that you don't want to hear. (You'll have to install
WordPerfect somewhere and then either re-save documents as Word document s
without a password or just remove the password.)
