cannot copy and paste from internet into Word 2003

When I copy something from a website to paste into Word 2003, it always
creates an error. The reason for the error is Styles1. I have changed the
font in Word before I even try to copy and paste into a Word document so that
it matches what I am copying but the error still happens. The error tells me
that Microsoft Word has encountered a problem and needs to close. Then when
I show the repairs, it says that the Styles was the problem. Any suggestions?

You might have more success if you post to a Windows-oriented newsgroup
(this one is for MacWord - hence the '.mac.' in the group name). Perhaps:

microsoft.public.word.application.errors

The error most likely has nothing to do with styles in Word. When you copy
from a web page you're copying all sorts of hidden stuff - such as links &
pointers to style sheets. All that junk is on the clipboard, but Word can't
understand what to do with it & can't follow the links, so it eventually
goes into a tailspin.

If you have to grab content through your browser try using Edit> Paste
Special - Unformatted Text rather than simply pasting.
