Cannot copy from Word

Running Vista Home Premium, Word 2007 from Office Home. On several occations
I have been attempting to copy a document (500 words +-) and it just wont
copy. I open the clipboard and there is nothing there. Sometimes there is a
small bit of something else I copied earlier. The only thing I have made to
work is restart my computer. At the time I attampt to copy I have open IE7
and Windows Mail. I have attempted to "repair" the application but that
hasn't helped. I am a single user and not on any network.

What application are you copying from and what application are you pasting
to? Is it all within Word? If you are using a different application, it’s
the destination already running prior copying the content? If not, do you
encounter the same results if the application is running prior to copying?

I am copying from Word to another document, any document, even a blank Word
document. At times I will copy from Word then attempt to paste into a web
page, usually a form of some kind like an employment application. When it
wont paste I check the clipboard in Word and there is nothing there. I close
all programs, restart my computer and try it again. So far that seems to work
but it is time consuming.
