Cannot copy my outlook.pst file - cyclic redundancy error message

I have been trying to copy and back up my Outlook.pst
file but cannot do so. During backup, I just receive an
error message that the program is unable to backup the
file. When I do a copy and paste function, I receive a
cyclic redundancy error message. Help!
