Cannot copy the pst file

For ages I have been copying the outlook.pst file to my laptop, now suddenly
I get a message that "another process has locked part of the application",
nothing has changed otherwise in my pc. Any ideas please?

Are you ABSOLUTELY sure that Outlook has closed? (Look in Task manager to
see if outlook.exe is still there), or have you got a desktop search
application that you didn't have before?

I had this problem and it was solved by uninstalling my desktop search
application. Is there a way to work around this so that a desktop search app
can be used?

Can you not pause or disable the search application while you do the copy?

Perhaps a different search program would work better.
