cannot create a new database with the same name of the deleted dat

I deleted an offline database from a laptop and now I'm unable to recreate a
NEW offline database from the host.

I get the dreaded "cannot complete last action" message when I try to create
the offline database. Somehow, I was able to do this on another laptop about
3 weeks ago, but NO luck this time.

Suggestions? Anyone else been through this?
