Cannot Create .mde file

Hello,

Using A2000 to create an .mde I get a message:

"Microsoft Access was unable to create an MDE Database"

There is no explanation.

I turned of a reference library trying to troubleshoot another issue, but
can't recall which one.

My references are:

Visual Basic for Applications
Microsoft Access 9.0 Object Library
OLE Automation
Microsoft DAO 3.6 Library

I don't believe the library selections are the issue however since these are
my usual choices and I have never had this problem.
