Cannot crop pictures

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

For some reason I am unable to crop pictures in Word. I have tried using both the print and publishing layout views, and I have also tried copy and pasting the image in from the internet and saving and importing as a JPEG. In both cases the crop function cannot be used.

Any ideas?!

Thank you!

Cropping works as expected here so there's nothing inherently wrong within
the program. In order to help determine where the problem is please reply
with the following;

Exact update level of OS X & Office,

Complete details - step by step - of how you're going about it, what you
mean by "unable to" (what happens when you try) & a clear explanation of
what "cannot be used" means.

Has the feature worked as expected in the past? What have you done in an
effort to correct the problem? Have you restarted your Mac recently?

Please keep in mind that nobody here can see your display - we can only go
on the accuracy & completeness of what you describe.

Works here: You can do it only from the Formatting Palette. This is a
change from Word 2004...

Cheers
