Cannot delete a reoccuring appointment.

I am trying to delete a reoccuring appointment, but i get an error message
stating "Cannot read one instance of this reoccuring appointment, close any
open appointment and try again or recreate the appointment." Anyone have any
ideas on this and how to fix it? Thanks in advance for your help.

Also I ex-merged this from one box to another, if that helps to troubleshoot.
