Cannot delete documents in Sharepoint

Hi,

We have a basic Sharepoint site. We have been having problems deleting
documents. All permissions seem to be correct. Everything else seems to
work fine.

When you confirm the prompt to delete, an IE window appears with:


Error


Cannot complete this action
Please try again
If this problem persists please contact your administrator.
Troubleshoot issues with Microsoft SharePoint


All efforts to correct this have proven ineffective. We can not find
information on TechNet or any other source.


Can anyone help with this issue?

Hi Burt,

Check the permissions of the document library in your basic SharePoint
site.

1. ON the SharePoint Site web page, at the top menu click Documents and
Lists.
2. Under Document Libraries, click Shared Documents.
3. On the Shared Documents web page, from the Action menu, click Modify
settings and columns.
4. On the Customize Shared Documents web page, click "Change permissions
for this document library".
5. On the Change Permissions: Shared Documents web page, verify that the
following default Site Groups are listed:

Web Designer
Contributor
Reader

What are Site Groups are listed for your document library?
