Cannot delete email message

Well, I seem to have a corrupted message...or something. I can't delete one
message in my inbox. Nor can I move it. Or, for that matter, flag it. After
a pause, I get a message 'This action could not be completed. An unknown
error (16002) occurred." Anyone got any ideas on the best course of action?

I repaired permissions and installed the 10.4.8 update and have now deleted
the offending email. Art
