Cannot delete messages in Outlook 2000

hWhen I try to delete or move messages from my inbox I get "messaging
interface has returned an unknown error. If this persists, try restarting
Outlook." Did that. Shut down the sysem, rebooted, still getting the same
error. I can't delete or move any messages from my inbox. HELP!
