Cannot download Office XP updates

Using windows XP-SP2- Office XP-SP3. The update site reads my instalation
history ok and suggests 4 updates to down load but each time I try it just
goes to the Installation troubleshooter page and no further. I've loaded
Active- X, verified my software with MS, I can download and install security
updates at the Office XP site but unfortunately it doesn't include all the
security updates. Deleted the IE cache and all the other stuff mentioned in
the kb 304498 and none of it works. I've turned off my firewall and disabled
Slipstream Accelerator. I can download templates and clipart from the MS
sites. Any ideas out there.

If none of the suggestions in 304498 worked for you, you could try
downloading the updates from the Download center...When you are prompted on
Office Update with the updates you need you can follow the more info links
and download them manually and then install them.

Hope this helps,
Thanks,
Ryan

Maybe this will help some others.
I've experimented and get it to work by disabling every item in my start
group except the Zone Alarm firewall. When I try to pinpoint which program is
preventing me from downloading properly I get inconsistent results and gave
up. Now I just go to Msconfig and make temporary changes to the start
programs and after downloading I return it to the original configuration.--
