At some point, dragging and dropping attachments from email messages to
Windows Explorer stopped working for me. I do not receive an error messages
and have been unable to find a solution. Any suggestions would be greatly
appreciated. Here are some specifics:
What Doesn’t Work
When I drag an attachment from an email to either my desktop, a folder, or
another application (e.g. OneNote 2007), it does not work. I briefly see a
busy cursor, and then nothing. The file does not copy. No error message. This
happens with any attachment.
Here are some things I've tried to fix the problem:
-Reinstalling Office
-Repairing Office (this worked for about a day the first time I did it,
since then it has no effect)
-Running Office Diagnositcs
Here are some related things I can do without any problem:
-I am able to drag files into email messages from applications and my
desktop or folders.
-I am able to drag other items besides attachments from Outlook to my desktp
or folders. For example, I can drag an email or task to my desktop and it
saves just fine.
