Cannot Edit Enterprise Resource Pool

T

Terry Montgomery

Greetings,

First off, I have researched this question via the existing posts. I am the
Administrator for Project Server 2003. I cannot edit Enterprise Resource Pool
from within Project Professional 2003. The Admin rights thru Project Server
are all set to "Allow". I have permissions for My Organization, My Projects,
etc. with everything set to "Allow". I still can't edit the pool. I can view
it as read only but when the dialog box appears there are no check boxes to
let me read and write to the pool resources.
Thanks for the help.

A couple of things might cause your problem:

1. Are the resources "stuck" in checked out state? This could be the
result of a system crash while someone else had the resources checked out,
and they remain "stuck" in that checked out state. To check them in, log
into PWA and click Admin - Manage enterprise features, click the "Check in
enterprise resources" link in the sidepane, select the resources and click
the Check-In button.

2. Are you a member of other security Groups other than the Administrators
group? If so, remove yourself from all other Groups and see if this allows
you to check out the resources for editing. A "Deny" permission in any
other Group could be preventing you from editing the resources.

Hope this helps.

Dale,

The resources were stuck. Never had that happen before. I followed your
process and it worked fine. Thanks.
