Hi,
I am having the same problem, and it started just a few days ago. I'm using
Vista (32-bit) SP1 and Microsoft Office 2007. I have tried repairing the
Office 2007 installation, and that did not work.
I checked, and the document is not locked:
- Track changes is turned on, and I can search/replace and that works.
- I can do a Ctrl+A > Ctrl+C then Ctrl+V into a new Word doc, but cannot
double-click or highlight any word in the new document.
- When I type from the keyboard, the characters are added to the end of the
document. I can't edit those, either.
- When I create a new document, I can type new characters into it, but I
cannot edit those characters.
I tried opening Word while holding down the Ctrl key, but that did nothing
different.
Does anyone know of a recent Vista update that is causing this? This
happened to me a few months ago when a Vista SP2 was downloaded/installed on
my laptop. I rolled back to SP1 and the problem went away. I checked, and my
Vista is still SP1. I searched this and the CNET forms, and there is no
resolution for this posted anywhere that works.
HELP!!! Thank you all in advance for your help!
