Cannot edit Sharepoint Documents now

Help.

I was able to upload and edit files on the sharepoint
server as Admin. Now when I try to edit my Sharepoint
Documents on the server I get this error message...

The 'Edit Document' button requires a SharePoint-
compatible application and Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0
or greater.


I have IE 6.0 sp1 and I am on Office 2000

I am not able to do any further updates on the server.
Does someone have a suggestion on how to resolve this
issue!!

For full Office functionality on the Web with STS you need Office XP
For full Office functionality on the Web with WSS you need Office 2003

Upgrade Office or live with the downgraded feature set.

I have upgraded my Office 2000 to Office XP with Frontpage

However, I still cannot edit the files I uploaded when I
was using Office 2000. I thought that upgrading to XP
would resolve the issues.


I did checked the Office XP settings under Office Shared
Features folders and under Office Tools / Microsoft
SharePoint Support
Web Discussions
Hosted Webs
Everything is turned on

Is there any settings I should check on the SharePoint

You need to uninstall the Office Web Components to force an upgrade to them
as well.
