Cannot email a word document

J

Jerry

I have W98 and Word 2002 (Office XP), Pentium II 500, 256K Ram, etc.

I have created a Word document and when I send it as an attachment to an email, the recipient cannot open it because Word reports the error "The Directory Name Is Not Valid". I have validated the problem by sending the document to my own email address. The original document opens with no problem. If I try to open the attachment both the sent attachment and the received attachment report the problem and will not open. I have edited the original file and copied it to another directory with a different name and tried sending that attachment, but the same problem occurs.

I thought the problem might be the result of a new installation of Norton Antivirus, so I uninstalled it, to no avail. I also disabled my firewall, to no avail, even after reboot.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Jerry Isaacs

This usually is caused by a conflict with the Norton Office Plug-in.
