cannot enter key to fix lock up

I've found my way into the Registry Editor to enter the key to fix the
problem, however, it won't let me.

I click on the REG-DWORD File, but it won't let me change the value name..

Am I doing something wrong?

I've never done this kind of thing before.

Have you created the key as instructed? Then click away from it, then
right-click on it and choose Modify. Then you'll be able to change the
value.
