Cannot expand sub-projects in PWA

I've enabled viewing of master projects in PWA in hope of seeing two layers
of sub-projects in a master project. I can view the lowest sub-projects in
PWA and expand their summary tasks just fine. But I am only able to see
summary lines for sub-projects when trying to view the master projects PWA.
There are no plus(+) signs for expanding -- only minus(-) signs. However,
opening these same enterprise master files in Project Pro 2003 look just fine
and they expand all the way down to the task level of the lowest sub-project.
The link fields in Project Information-Advanced seem to show the files are
linked correctly. I'm just wondering what I am overlooking -- or if I am
expecting too much. Any help much appreciated.

What you are seeing in PWA is the default behavior of master projects.
