Cannot find Approval option

Hi all. I'm Samuel.

I have a problem using PS2007. I have a single installation in a VM with
WServer2K3R2 and WSS3 (no MOSS2K7). I want the project worker submits
administrative time (vacation) and after submit the project manager approves
the request. This is the sequence I'm following:

- The project worker goes to his timesheet under My Work and click Plan
administrative Time.
- Then inserts a new request for Vacation Time and clicks Save.
- The project worker clicks Save and Submit after clicking in the timesheet.

At this point there is no option to select the next approver so the request
is automaticaly approved every time.

I've verified that the Server Settings --> Administrative Time --> Vacation
--> Approve option is set to Yes.

Can someone helps me, please?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Ben.

I've seen that the user's manager was himself. The problem now is that when
I'm going to change the value of this field to the Project Manager, in the
list of available users the PM is missing. In the default assignment owner
but, he is available. Why the PM is missing in the list?

Thanks in advance.

If the manager is set to the resource, the timesheet auto approves which is
the crux of your problem.
Not sure why on your system his manager is not showing up. I would check
the groups that the manager belongs to, it may be that the drop down list is
security trimmed.

Samuel --

The PM does not appear on the list of timesheet approvers because members of
the Project Managers group do not have the Approve Timesheets permission.
Members of the Resource Managers group do have this permission, so if you
want your PM's to approve timesheets, ask your Project Server administrator
to add them to the Resource Managers group. Hope this helps.
