cannot find inbox when reinstalling outlook

I purchased a new hard drive.
I still have my old hard drive but am not booting from
it. I do not see *.pst files on that hard drive (even
when searching the hidden files) and am wondering how to
get the inbox copied over to my new drive/outlook express
installation.
