Cannot find source

I am currently adding a subform to an existing form, and I am trying to carry
over information from the form to the subform, but the information contained
in the form does not exist in the database I'm working in. How can I find
the source of this information and use it to carry information over from the
form to the subform?

Ummmm...

How on Earth could we know that?

If the information doesn't exist in your database, how is it getting
onto the parent form????

More details please.
